How to read the meter:
ATCO Gas collects timely, accurate meter readings and attempts to read meters monthly. ATCO Gas uses meter readings to calculate consumption and passes readings to your retailer to consider for billing. We will accept customer meter readings when the following instructions are followed.

  • Determine whether your meter style is a 3-dial or 4-dial meter and use the links on your right for directions on how to read your meter.
  • Depending on what method you are going to use to report your customer meter reading, you will need your service address, the meter number or the site ID unique to your service address.  The 13-digit site ID number is found on most retailer statements..  An ATCO Gas site ID begins with 000.
  • Contact ATCO Gas with the reading on the day you read the meter.  ATCO Gas will not accept a customer meter reading submitted more than one business day after the day the meter was read.

Click the kind of meter you have to your right for instructions on how to submit a reading.

NOTE:  If ATCO Gas has not been able to read the meter for at least six months, we are not able to accept your customer meter reading or pass it to your retailer. Instead, your usage will be estimated until we have been provided with access to read your meter.

ATCO Gas does NOT ask for a user name or password for customers to submit a meter reading.

If you receive the above message, this is not a message from ATCO Gas. You may email your meter reading to hotline@atcogas.com until such time you have determined the source of the issue with your electronic devices or computer.

When you are moving:

Please be aware that ATCO Gas does not read meters when customers move in or out of properties or start and end accounts with a retailer.

If you wish to have a meter reading sent to your retailer for the day your account with your retailer starts and ends, you are welcome to contact ATCO Gas with a customer meter reading.

Please report the meter reading on the day your account starts or ends as we regret we do not accept meter readings older than one business day. A customer move in/out reading will not be accepted if it has been at least six months since the last company reading.
