ATCO Gas has a long history of being an active corporate citizen in the communities we serve, work and live in. Each year we work with different organizations to bring some of our flagship programs to your community.
ATCO Gas is committed to the protection and stewardship of the environment. This strongly held value is embedded in our staff training, reflected in our corporate decision making, and integrated into our business strategies. Our Environmental Policy outlines this commitment and our Environment Operating Principles incorporate practices that limit greenhouse gas emissions.
ATCO Gas collects meter readings and uses this measurement information to calculate how much natural gas has been used each charge period. Our company passes this information to your retailer, along with our delivery charges and your retailer passes these costs on to you.

ATCO Gas delivers safe, reliable, cost-effective natural gas to Alberta -- and has since 1912. That's why we say we're "Alberta-made". An investor-owned, rate regulated utility, ATCO Gas helps to build communities across the province because our people live, work and volunteer in the communities we serve.
COCHRANE, Alberta -- (January 13, 2012) -- Mayor of Cochrane, Truper McBride and ATCO Gas’s new mascot, Digger the Prairie Dog teamed up for a log-sawing event today to promote the 2nd Annual ATCO Gas Cochrane WinterFest planned for January 28. Log-sawing, dog-sled demonstrations, disco dancing lessons, pony and wagon rides, a hay maze, human curling and demonstrations by Alberta Bobsled are just some of the novel and interactive activities that children will enjoy.
“Special celebrations that bring people of all generations together help to foster strong, healthy communities,” says Bill Stephens, Senior Vice President & General Manager, ATCO Gas. “As ATCO Gas sets out to celebrate its 100-year anniversary in 2012, celebration will be a significant part of our year. We’re thrilled to not only support but also participate in this year’s WinterFest.”
As the title sponsor event, ATCO Gas also presented toques and scarves to 100 WinterFest volunteers who will welcome an expected 1,500 guests to this year’s event. Digger the Prairie Dog, the newest member of the ATCO Gas family, will also make an appearance. The WinterFest takes place from noon to 6:00 pm on January 28th at the Cochrane Rodeo Grounds. Admission is $5 per person (ages two and under enter for free).
Cochrane Activettes will be accepting Food Bank donations. For further details about the event, visit www.cochraneevents.ca.
