ATCO Gas has a long history of being an active corporate citizen in the communities we serve, work and live in. Each year we work with different organizations to bring some of our flagship programs to your community.

This strongly held value is embedded in our staff training, reflected in our corporate decision making, and integrated into our business strategies. Our Environmental Policy outlines this commitment and our Environment Operating Principles incorporate practices that limit greenhouse gas emissions.
ATCO Gas collects meter readings and uses this measurement information to calculate how much natural gas has been used each charge period. Our company passes this information to your retailer, along with our delivery charges and your retailer passes these costs on to you.

EDMONTON, Alberta -- (Februrary 9, 2012) -- As part of ATCO Gas’s centennial in 2012, 67 ATCO Gas employees are rolling up their sleeves for a Day of Caring to support the 2012 Alberta Winter Games in the Tri-Municipal Region.
“ATCO’s involvement with the Alberta Winter Games is part of our province-wide commitment to complete 100 Days of Caring projects in 2012, our centennial year,” explains Bill Stephens, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ATCO Gas. “Service to the community has been the foundation of ATCO Gas’s success over the past 100 years and it is central to the theme of ATCO Gas’s centennial program this year: Heating Homes, Warming Communities Since 1912.”
“We are overwhelmed by the support received from ATCO Gas,” says Raydon Frayne, Director of the 2012 Alberta Winter Games. “It takes over 3,000 volunteers to support an event like this and ATCO Gas is the largest corporate contributor of volunteers. It is amazing to see how much can be accomplished with a group of enthusiastic volunteers.”
ATCO Gas has been a sponsor of the Alberta Games since 1988. Highlights of ATCO’s involvement in the Alberta Games are the ATCO Gas Torch Relay, Opening Ceremonies and the employee Day of Caring.
The 2012 Alberta Winter Games takes place in the Tri-Municipal Region (Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Parkland County) from February 9 - 12. These Games provide the opportunity for many of Alberta’s future elite athletes to enjoy their first taste of competition at a provincial level. The weekend will include 22 different sporting competitions featuring more than 2,800 athletes, coaches, officials, and a multi-faceted cultural program including performing, visual and literary artists.
