Key Areas of Focus

Our business is more than delivering natural gas to the thousands of homes and businesses within our vast service area.  We believe in being active partners within the communities we serve.  Over the years, we have supported organizations that provide opportunities to enhance community life and promote wellness.

By developing meaningful partnerships with not-for-profit organizations and giving our time and expertise in addition to financial support, ATCO Gas and its employees are doing their part to help create healthy, vibrant communities throughout Alberta.

We look for community projects or initiatives that bring the most value to the company and the communities we serve.

To receive donations or sponsorships, applying organizations must be:

  • Courtesy and goodwill advertising, unless as a component of a corporate sponsorship.

Key Areas of Focus

ATCO Gas gives top priority to organizations or causes that support our four key areas of focus:

  1. Community Safety:  Education and prevention programs or initiatives that promote safety in the home or at work.  Special emphasis is placed on natural gas safety education for ATCO Gas customers and their families; as well as in the commercial and residential construction sectors; crime prevention; fire and emergency services.
  2. Environment:  Projects or initiatives that help nurture or contribute to the protection and preservation of the environment.
  3. Education:  As a major employer of skilled trades people throughout the province, we see real value in helping grow our future workforce.  Projects or initiatives in this category help create a well-trained, highly motivated and fully inclusive workforce through the promotion of the trades to Alberta youth.
  4. Community:  Community projects or initiatives that strengthen the foundation of ATCO Gas service communities - health and wellness, arts and culture, economic growth, and community infrastructure.  Projects or initiatives must benefit a broad segment of the community, address an important community priority, and provide a significant and unique contribution to community life.
