Headquartered in Edmonton, ATCO Gas has 62 district offices across the province. We build, operate and maintain pipeline throughout Alberta and are on-call 24 hours a day to respond to gas-odor calls and natural gas emergencies.  

We serve more than one million customers in nearly 300 communities.

ATCO Gas is focused on customer service through the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas. We are ready to respond to customer needs and emergencies 24 hours a day. We are committed to providing customers with information to help them live and work safely around natural gas.

In 2007,  ATCO Gas completed a record number of installations. Capital expenditures surpassed $191 million as the company expanded and maintained its extensive natural gas delivery system consisting of 36,487 kilometres of pipeline to support Alberta's booming economy. 

Almost 32,000 customers were added to the system – an average of 87 homes, businesses and institutions per day – with the largest increase in northern Alberta. A significant milestone for the company was adding the one millionth customer to the system.

The growth kept distribution operators busy, as the people of ATCO Gas completed 625,016 jobs at 599,242 service calls. These jobs included equipment and appliance inspections, meter installations and moves, emergency response to gas odours and carbon monoxide calls, and requests to re-light appliances – all within the lowest delivery charge in Canada.

  • Through ATCO EPIC’s Volunteer Recognition Fund, employees donated more than 16,450 hours to organizations in their communities in 2007. ATCO recognized this volunteerism by contributing $14,250 to charities designated by ATCO Gas employees.

  • And through ATCO EPIC’s charitable-giving program, ATCO Gas and its employees directed more than $887,000 in 2007 to charities, not-for-profit and community service organizations in Alberta.

  • Albertans have also come to trust the friendly, expert advice and services offered by the ATCO EnergySense program and our famous ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen.
